2025 Commonwealth Campuses Grant Workshop at Berks, May 13th – 15th
The 2025 Commonwealth Campuses Grant Workshop will be held at the Berks Campus in Reading with an opening reception on May 13th, followed by a full day of workshops on May 14th, and concluding with a half-day of sessions on May 15th.
The workshop’s purpose is to learn about grant writing, budgets, and the process of applying for grants from different sponsors. Those interested in the workshop are invited to submit up to three concept papers. All concept papers will undergo a peer review prior to the workshop, and feedback will be provided to the investigator. The workshop is a great opportunity for faculty to learn about proposal preparation and receive meaningful feedback on their concept papers.
Areas of interest will include:
- Finding opportunities
- How to read and get the most out of the sponsor’s RFP
- Concept paper drafting, review, individual feedback, and revisions
- Undergraduate researchers as an asset
- Collaborating with other researchers
- Building budgets Penn State’s internal resources
- Working with federal, state, foundation, and corporate sponsors
- Opportunities and pitfalls within your field of expertise

Concept papers are due by March 28th and can be submitted through the website and the following link: submission form.
